Associate Dean for Curriculum School of Medicine University of Missouri-Columbia
The University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine (MU SOM) is seeking an Associate Dean for Curriculum to lead the school's highly successful medical school curriculum to a new level of excellence. The goal is to educate physicians to provide effective patient-centered care for the people of Missouri and beyond. The Associate Dean will lead work to build on and extend the successes of MU SOM's problem-based learning curriculum, education innovations in patient-centered care and health care quality, comprehensive clinical simulation center, and portfolio-based medical student assessment system. The Associate Dean will contribute to the establishment of exemplary care and learning sites for clinical education and participate in national and international collaborations with other innovative researchers in medical education.
We seek an energetic and dynamic leader who has a track record of successful innovation and improvement in medical education, with a demonstrated ability to contribute to an environment where colleagues work together toward a shared vision for the future. The successful candidate will be qualified for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank (not limited to tenure track) and have a strong record of medical education leadership, improvement in medical education, multidisciplinary collaboration, scholarly contributions, commitment to diversity, and past work that gives evidence of values consistent with MU SOM Foundation Values for Medical Education (see below).
The Associate Dean for Curriculum reports to the Senior Associate Dean for Education and Faculty Development. Qualifications include an M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
