Baylor College of Medicine seeks an academic leader to serve as the Director for Educational Evaluation and Research.  This person will direct the development, implementation, and evaluation of undergraduate medical education and will lead and participate in medical education research. 

The Director will lead the development and implementation of evaluation and research  strategies for the College of Medicine. The Director will help implement initiatives to stimulate educational innovations and research; and help support cooperative endeavors with other entities within the medical school.  It is expected that this individual will participate fully in the medical education leadership team.

Specific responsibilities will include:  1) consultation and collaboration on research design and methods, 2) consultation and review of student assessment methods, 3) supervision of data management and analysis, 4) development of educational innovations and assessment methods as needed, 5) presentations to faculty and/or students within the area of evaluation and research as needed, and 6) development of grant proposals.

The successful candidate also will possess the ability to work collaboratively with the academic deans, academic chairs, and faculty.  The position will report directly to the Senior Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education.  The successful candidate will possess an MD, PhD or EdD with experience and expertise in evaluation and assessment and research in the health sciences or medical education. Prior experience in a medical or health care setting is required; administrative experience in education is desirable.  A faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in Medical Education and salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
