Professional/Technical position Director of Continuing Medical Education Office of Medical Education, School of Medicine, LSUHSC The Office of Medical Education, School of Medicine, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center at New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) is seeking a full-time Director of Continuing Medical Education. Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Director will be responsible for the planning, development and management of all educational activities and associated programs under the Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME). The candidate is responsible for continued accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) including oversight of the database, direction of the year long self study, creation and editing of the self study summary, preparing for and directing the site visit and any of the other requirements for the ACCME accreditation process. The candidate must ensure compliance with appropriate ACCME guidelines for the planning, organization and evaluation of all sponsored educational activities. The candidate will be responsible for managing all financial, personnel and administrative activities for the Office of Continuing Medical Education. In collaboration with LSU faculty and staff, the candidate will work to develop and implement new CME activities that utilize the outstanding facility and resources within the LSU School of Medicine Learning Center. The successful candidate must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Education, Business Administration or related plus seven (7) or more years of experience in the development of educational programs (three of those years must show demonstrated experience in the administration and planning of educational programs) or a Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Education, Business Administration or related can substitute for two (2) years of experience. The candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent organizational, management, interpersonal and communication skills. Prior experience in an education setting, particularly medical or health care education programs would be preferred. Fluent skills with computer- and web-based applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) are necessary. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
